Genetically modified organisms: what they are

These are the organisms that are genetically modified or genetically engineered by the scientists. By using different genetic techniques and methods many changes are brought by the genetic scientists and engineers. The materials of the genetic organisms are altered or modified with the help of genetic methods and applications. The techniques that are used to modify and cell structures of the organisms to make changes in the body systems and functions of these organisms are called Recombinant DNA technologies. There are many benefits of using Recombinant DNA technologies because these are promised to produces identical organisms beneficial from economic and social point of views.

In this technique the DNA and genes of the organisms are used for the production of identical offspring. Remember, it’s not necessary that the genetic engineering and modifications will only be used for the production of identical offspring but it cal be used for the treatment and improvement of organisms. There are many good examples of these organisms but there are so many issues and opinions about this technology.

Most of the social leaders and religious leaders don’t like this technology. They said the genetic engineering to interfere in the system of universe. However, there are many benefits of this technology as it is possible to produce resistance in a person who has different diseases and disorders.

So the genetically modified organisms will be more stable and resistant. Up to some extent the hypotheses is true and many scientists have proved it but because of social impacts the technology and genetically modified organisms are controversial. However, it is true that by using the genes and DNA of different species you can produce healthy organisms for better performance and productions. For example, the malaria resistant mosquitoes were created by the scientists in the laboratory in 2010 that will be beneficial to eliminate the malaria from the world that killed near about one million people in 2008
